    Great little AAA flashlight!

I love this little LED light. Sometimes it is preferable to just swap batteries than to charge with USB, and that is why I chose this light. It is driven by only 1 AAA battery, so just keep a couple in backup and you will be good to go for quite some time at the 45 lumen brightness. Another thing I like is the double ended pocket clip, making it possible to mount it on my cap for instance. Also it is very small, so you can carry it anywhere without notice or any kind of cumber. The flashlight has a simple and rock-solid construction. You won't break it. Lastly I like the push button on the back which accommodates intermittent or permanent lumination. The only thing I don't like is that the pocket clip interferes when you try to screw the flashlight together after changing the battery.

    ON/OFF switch very poor design.

The ON/OFF switch is very difficult to push in far enough to keep the light ON position. No problem to have the light ON while holding the switch down. However, the push the switch far enough down to have it STAY ON you have to use your thumb nail while holding the light with the other hand. Very awkward to do. Called the company and they immediately sent me another switch unit at no charge. The new switch was the same as the original. There is somewhat of a fix as posted by another reviewer. Using a normal paper hole punch make up 4 or 5 disks of thin plastic (any thin plastic will work) and use these disks inside the switch so that the light will work as designed. Push and hold for light for momentary light and push down further to lock in the ON position. This will be obvious once you unscrew the switch and see where the disks go. It may take several attempts to get the right number of disks. Even without adding the disks so you can lock it ON, the switch can easily be pushed to the momentary ON position which if carried in your pocket or purse could easily cause the light to stay on and run down the battery. A really great light in all other aspects if it had a good switch.

  • Awesome Light!

I've been using this model light for more than 10 years. It's very light weight; fits in a pocket; uses 1 AAA battery which is easy to get; I've dropped this light on the ground from ladders and similar heights onto the concrete and tile flooring and it's never broken. I've also dropped it in water (quickly removed it) but it did not malfunction. The clip is handy although I have had to 're-tighten' it (by squeezing it with pliers) after a few years of heavy use the clip gets bent just enough to loosen it's grip but not enough to be a real problem. The light 'beam' or 'spread' is a good mix of spot and flood in my opinion (not adjustable). Good for close distances but in complete dark it's good for further out. It's easy to cover the end with your hand if you don't want to light up the entire space and just need a little light.

  • A must have little light.

A great little flashlight! During the Halloween Nor'easter and then Sandy, my MicroStream got a good workout. It's a must have for camping, the lanyard insures you know where it is. I love the fact that it uses a single AAA battery for power. Cheap easy and effective. The clip works as a pocket clip but also has a reverse portion for clipping onto the bill of a ball cap so you can use it like a head lamp. Every time I travel my MicroStream is with me. I keep it handy on the nightstand at home or away. This purchase is a gift for a loved one.

  • Review based on 12 yrs. of use

I've used mine (same model light) every day for over 12 years now in hard conditions and it's never broken or failed. I've dropped it in water, dropped it off ladders and scaffolds from high up, I've gotten it dirty, muddy etc and it's held up. The only thing I've had to do is after a few years of use, pinch the clip a little bit with pliers to make it 'clip' tighter (if that makes sense). No big deal. I would consider purchasing an extra clip in the future as a back up but even after 12 years the original has been fine. I use these as gifts now days people usually seem to appreciate them. It's like holding a slightly longer AA battery. Not too large, not too small. Great size and weight. There is only 1 level of brightness and only a on/off or temp on with slight pressure on the cap. The level of brightness is great for most occasions. I use it at work, on a night out, anywhere/time. The battery run time seem very good to me. I use my light everyday and have it on a lot/often. I replace my battery once per month maybe 2 months (but not necessarily because it died). I'd guess an average user would use it less than I do and not need to replace the battery as often if using a good brand.

  • Affordable and Solid for the EDC

I kept hearing on social media that stream light without doubts was a good affordable light company that cared for their production. I hopped on this one because I carry a few things on me such as a CRKT knife, a leatherman, my wallet, shades and this extremely reliable flashlight. It’s not cheap in reference to material. Solid, sleek, perfect fit, fits in your palms (extra support for the gift/knuckles if you ever need it). I had bought a few flashlights in my past. This one is by all means one I would not mind carrying EVERYDAY, and still depend on it. But course, taking good care of your gear because your gear takes care of you. Keeping an extra battery in your vehicle, luggage, backpack would be a good idea and the battery isn’t requiring much space or weight either. I’d definitely recommend this to many. People underestimated my flashlight in the beginning when they saw it. But they quickly loved it after. Good investment.

  • Bright, but not too bright.

I'm always inside of a computer case or something similar with shiny metal. This light is plenty bright to do anything I do, to include finding car keys at night, but not so bright I go blind. It weighs almost nothing and doesn't get in the way in my pocket. Possibly the greatest thing sounds like a con instead of a pro, but it's not. A battery only lasts about an hour and some change. This is great because it means I can use rechargeable ones. The cells on the charger won't stay there long enough to ruin. Also, the funky clip that's made to go on a hat is way easier to clip in my pocket and doesn't wear out the denim like the full size version I had before. I do wish, though that they had a version with neon yellow or hunter orange paint on it instead of black. I actually set this light down last night after a long day at work and now can't find it, lol. (All I could find was a dull red at the time of order)

  • Best pocket flashlight ever!

I have bought hundreds of cheap pocket flashlights, mostly $2-3 Chinese ones and I finally got tired of replacing them every three months and decided to buy a good flashlight. I have not been disappointed with this flashlight at all, it has so many features I love. It's bright, durable, light, simple, and doesn't chew through batteries. The switch is nice and hard to push and doesn't have to pushed all the way to light up the light. The pocket clip will not come off like most all cheap flashlights do and it holds it down inside the pocket securely. No modes, just simple on-off which I love, and it only takes one battery. All in all this is the best pocket flashlight I've ever owned and I plan on buying more streamlight flashlights in the future. Below is a comparison between the streamlight and my old chineseium flashlight. The blueish colored light is from the Chinese flashlight and the bright white light from the streamlight, both have brand new batteries in them.

  • A TOUGH LITTLE 'LIGHTBRIGHT'

EXTREMELY BRIGHT AND DURABLE TO THE MAX. I WAS EATING A BOWL OF ICE CREAM IN BED ONE NIGHT AND FELL ASLEEP, UNKNOWINGLY DROPPING THE LIGHT IN THE BOWL. I WOKE UP A FEW MINUTES LATER AND PUT THE SOUPY ICE CREAM BACK INTO THE FREEZER. IN THE PROCESS I THOUGHT I LOST MY LIGHT. NEXT TIME WHEN I FINISHED THE BOWL, I FOUND THE LIGHT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BOWL. I CLEANED AND DRIED THE LIGHT, CHANGED HE BATTERY AND AM STILL USING THAT TOUGH LITTLE LIGHT!! AMAZING.

  • Decent for the price

I should invest in stock for Streamlight, I buy these all the time. The light is small and light weight with a nice white usuable light that won't blind you. I work on stuff all day as a Handyman and this light does the trick. I have had one or two fail out of just lots of use. I seriously buy about 6-7 per year. Mostly I leave them behind at customers houses or lose them. Out of the many I have bought only one or 2 failing is really good as I've probably bought 20 in the last 3 years.
