  • WELL BUILT, GOOD FIDELITY, GREAT VALUE

Quality construction. Sturdy and capable of withstanding drops, etc. Very good low-distortion max volume dynamic range. Full audio frequency response. Intended as a commercial/land mobile speaker, it makes an excellent external speaker for amateur radio use whether fixed or mobile. Very sturdy mounting bracket also serves as a stand for setting the speaker on a shelf, table, etc. I'm using this with an FT-897D and it has been very satisfactory for SSB, NFM and CW. It also reproduces rich audio when listening to AM and WFM shortwave and medium wave broadcast stations. A real value. Highly recommended.

  • Calmed my concerns upon installing.

I had two major concerns when shopping for a speaker for a ham radio that contains an internal speaker aimed at the ceiling. 1: Will it sound tinny, dominated by the higher frequencies so typical of small speakers and 2: will it stand on its own or tend to fall over is not fastened to the radio. This speaker neither sounds tinny nor does it fall over easily, although I did attach some rubber feet to reduce that risk.
