    26th April 1986 - A day that changed history

    The events of Chernobyl are finally given a human face and an all-too believable timeline of events. A political system that denies truth, crushes intelligence and reason, and ties its future to a potentially lethal form of energy creation - where every corner that could have been cut - HAS been cut. It was all there in the blueprints just waiting to happen. The people who had to get on top of this mess before it became even worse - who died for that purpose - and those who were destroyed by the state - are ALL heroes. This drama does a magnificent job of recording and illustrating events so that you understand all the factors - even the complexity of nuclear power harvesting. Most of the cast are British actors with (thankfully) no attempt at Russian/Ukrainian accents. I cannot imagine ...

    buy it while you can!

    This peaked my interest so I thought I would buy the blu ray, so glad I did. All the reviews said it was good, and it is. Factual dramatisation, excellent acting, superbly filmed and already one of my favs. 2 disc 5 episode affair, doubt you could watch only one part, I did the set in an evening. If you like disaster movies or sci fi this is a must, granted it's real, but done with style and feeling, no blockbuster 'bs' or mega star actors just suspense, drama and stunning effects. Edge of seat stuff.....even though you know the outcome! Highly recommended 10/10 without reservation.

    Terrific. Really the best drama we’ve seen in a long time.

    Genuinely a surprise. A lot of money spent on this. Hardly any virtue signalling or sledge-hammer ‘issue’ insertion, just a terrific cast, excellent script and superb cinematography. I hadn’t thought this possible in this day and age. This looks and feels real, complete with Soviet era 70s clothes, bad haircuts and chain-smoking. Strongly recommended.
