    An oldie but a goodie

    The bones of this kit go back to the old annual kits from the 70s. That's not a bad thing as the kit builds into a pretty convincing replica of the 1978 version of Dodge's Lil' Red Express Truck. There are a few inaccuracies but none that can't be overcome by a decent modeler. They are: the taillights are incorrect and the real truck came with a 360 cubic inch small block V8 and automatic transmission while the kit is supplied with a big block engine with a manual transmission. An MPC Dodge van kit has a small block engine and automatic transmission. But the engine in the kit builds into a nice looking piece so it's no deal breaker. The kit is detailed enough to entertain the advanced builder yet easy enough to build for less experienced builders. Good kit, worth the investment.

    Almost awesome

    This is a great old model kit that AMT has repopped a few times now. Unfortunately for THIS particular kit, the decals were stuck to that package of cards that AMT saw fit to include in this release. Booooo, AMT. Bad move. The decals were ruined. Thankfully my one of my fellow model builders stepped up and provided a mint set of decals! Other than that, awesome throwback model kit from a much simpler time.

    A build I look forward to

    I have not had a chance to start this build yet but I am looking forward to building this kit and the other 174 kits I have waiting to be built after I move this coming Friday. There is a large portion of my kits were bought through Model Car Mountain and they have always been great to deal with and very responsive in any need for answering any questions about kits I have bought from them!!
