Left with only Veda, Mildred determined to become successful in order to give her the best of everything -- and she succeeded brilliantly. But the harder Mildred worked, the more the patrician Veda despised her. Now the moment of truth has come: will Mildred once again sacrifice herself to protect her child... from being convicted of murder? Adapted from the novel by James M. Cain.     This Is One Of The Best Films Noir Ever Produced !

    "Mildred Pierce" is one of the best examples of the film noir genre ever produced. It features a masterful performance by Joan Crawford and her supporting cast. It all revolves around the life of Mildred Pierce and her daughter, Veda. Unknown to Mildred, Veda is a sociopathic monster. Murder, personal strife, and ruined marriages ensue until the final, climactic act when everything is resolved in a most unusual way. This is one of the great movies and I can recommend it to all lovers of classic Hollywood fare.

    When acting was 1000% better

    I'm a 90's baby...but due to the bizarre agenda being pushed on Americans now days. I quit watching marvel, dc...and all the new crap coming out in theaters. Somehow, I got dragged into a rabbit hole re-watching Mommie-dearest. I went back to classic Hollywood movies and I saw Rain, Whatever happened to baby Jane, Autumn Leaves, even watched a couple of Betty Davis fills. Rita Hayworth, Judy Garland films as well. I can surly say nothing now days compares to the classics. None of the actors of this era has the talent old Hollywood held. Leslie Howard, Vincent Price, William Powell, Clark Gable...Hedy Lamar. Great era, great actors who's work is still being watched today. Betty and Joan had a little feud between them as I'm sure many did But both ladies worked hard, both were talented. All of whom I mentioned and many whom I haven't discovered Yet.
