Fantastic quality and easy to use.
This unit is awesome. Sound quality is excellent. I chose this over the mini because it is able to handle bass at full volume without any distortion (granted I'm listening to rock, but it handles well). Very easy to use, just power on and it works. Broadcast any blue tooth and it just works. The range is not bad, but it could be a bit better (though I'm not too familiar with blue tooth so perhaps that is standard). If you watch the videos of this product on youtube...you will see this item is virtually indestructible...that is good to know.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not that good, not that sturdy....and somewhat annoying.
I had to take mine apart and reassemble to make it work again. It's mediocre by todays standards and I would choose a better brand name like Sony, Bose or Pioneer before ever considering this again. I keep mine in the bathroom as I am afraid it will break again moving it around, so if it dies, who cares. I bought several Sony products after this one without any issues. Being in electronics back in the day, Sony had a tendancy to "overmanufacture" their products, making the internal much more reliable and durable. This is unlike many who make budget "good enough" products that handle lab testing but have minimal wear and tear life out in the real world. That's exactly what this seems like to me. Don't let "hybrid" padding and rubber buttons fool you. One other minor issue is that it says "Powering on, welcome to Altec Lansing!" every time you turn it on.... All that does is remind me of the regret I feel from buying it in the first place.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

One of my friends had one of these so I bought one. The clamp works great on a motorcycle or plowing on my ATV. I even took it tubing once. Multi purpose device for the outdoor person
Just got this today and it took about 5 hours for it to get fully charged. Watched several videos and read the reviews regarding waterproofness and sound. Sound is good for what you pay and what it can do. I also have a bose speaker which sounds better, was more money, can not charge your phone or get wet, so DO NOT compare the two. it is perfect for what it is meant to do and I am looking forward to some kayaking at our new lake house and having the tunes out there with little or no worries.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Perfect for the dorm I'm in. With the fault being on Altec Lansing for their decision to make the speaker yell at you when turning it on, off or connecting. I have never liked that. It is obnoxious and could be supplanted by a different color indication on the speaker or a visual prompt on the electronic device connecting. I saw this at fries electronics and got to play with display model but had sticker shock at the price. Found it for half retail here on Ebay and could not be happier with my purchase. It is LOUD and the sound quality is amazing, The range on the Bluetooth is stunning. I Alos dig the fact that it last all day long and has a port for charging my phone in the back. It's totally water proof which i was on the fence about but it really is! Excellent buy
Had a Sony Bluetooth and the recharge port was loose. Had to position it just right to maybe get a charge. Had friends and family on the deck. Pulled it out and it failed. Had to go old school for my music. The Altec is strong. Ports are stable and have a cover making it waterproof. Lots of sound and no rattle or vibration. No failures here.
