Denon DVD-2900
I purchased this unit strictly as an audio player due to the DVD audio and SACD capabilities, and after listening to it a few days I am very pleased. The unit is well constructed and feels very solid but not super heavy. I can't speak to the onboard DAC because I am using it as a transport to my Mytek Brooklyn DAC. The Denon unit has easy to use controls and a slick sliding drawer that operates easily. Load times are a tad long but that is a minor complaint. Made When Quality Mattered
If you have a chance to get the Denon DVD-2900, by all means do it. Weighing in around 17 pounds, this dvd/cd player delivers a superb picture and the sound quality is equally superb. It is very easy to set up, too. When it came out in 2003 or so, it retailed for $999; the Crutchfield review is still available online. A Good Value Unit is in good condition, sounds fine and all electronic features function properly. Drawer sticks occasionally, needs a belt.
