Good, cheap paddle for leisure use.
For the price these are good value. The angle is only slightly higher than leisurely paddling which makes it OK for working a bit harder sometimes. For such paddles anything higher would make little sense since those seeking something better for harder paddling into harsh conditions and seeking greater speed would purchase something much more expensive anyway. I never agree with having left and right options though, it merely adds confusion in an entry level product. Left handers should find no issue using a Right hand paddle since it is only an on/off thing and not proportional. The center hole giving parallel blades is pointless except for people who know nothing about paddling and who may think this is good. Better they have a right hand paddle and are thus encouraged to find out why it ... For the price these are good value. At first I was delighted with these paddles. They are quite well made, fairly lightweight look good and of course they separate to facilitate easy storage. However after the third time I used them for short 1hour trips they jammed. I couldnt separate the two paddles. I sprayed them with INOX and left them overnight. A week later they are still inseparable. This is a real shame as I was very happy with them before that. If you do buy them (they are good value after all!) I highly recommend that you wipe a little lube around the contact area before use each time. I wish I had. I can only give 3 stars because of this. Otherwise I would have been happy to give them 4.5 to 5 starsAt first I was delighted with these paddles.
