For the cost of this vise, I have no complaints , This vise replaced an older Regal that was starting to get tired, had a few small hooks (#24) fly out of its grip. This vise seems to handle them well. The large hooks #1/0 that I use are tight as well. Need to get used to the rotary function.

This Griffin Odyssey spider vise works about like what I expected for the money spent. I am a novice fly tyer and have been using an old vice that had come with a fly tying kit I got as a gift. The jaws on this vice are far superior to my old vice, but adjusting two screws to hold the hook is taking some time to get used to. The rotary feature is awesome! This vice fit right into my old vice stand.

My first vise. I tie bass jigs and it handles bigger hooks really well. Easy to set up and use. Only reason it's four stars and not 5 is its a touch on the flimsy side compared to the much heavier duty (and way more expensive) units available. Incredible value overall, would highly recommend for beginners.

Found this vise to be very user friendly. Friend of mine recommended it to me, price and delivery were great. Purchase was from Ed's Fly Shop. Would definitely recommend for portability and ease of use.

Some reviewers claimed this vise did not rotate well; had play while rotating. Maybe he was tying 20 pound flies, I don't know. My vise rotates really smoothly. I like simplicity, and the $75.00 price tag just made me buy it faster. I always wanted one of these, and I was not disappointed. Eventually, I may replace the rotator lever with an old fishing reel handle, something I would recommend for any of these rotating vises. Either way, it works really well.
