I did a job on 6 pot calipers for and this worked very well. I will say however that after removing of 12 pistons the grabbing tip got a bit worn out and the grip isn't that good compared to when the item was new. This means that when pistons are really seized and this product has been used many times it might not grab well enough to remove pistons.

I can't recommend this tool simply because, as the title says, it didn't work for me. The pistons in my calliper are partially obstructed by the design of the calliper body and although I could (just) get the tool into the correct position, there was not enough bite between the knurling on the tool 'bits' and the interior walls of the pistons to get sufficient friction to cause any movement. The locking increments of the tool could be a little finer spaced thereby offering more locking positions than they currently do. I had to use the floor/bench as a base for the bottom handle then and put my whole body weight onto the top handle to get them to offer enough friction to move the pistons. I did try it again AFTER I had serviced the pistons and re-greased everything but it was still a very similar problem. I have said its good value because I think if it works for you then the price is worth it and the quality is good enough for me NOT to say 'no' to the question 'is it good quality' but in all honesty it could be a little better if they just put more (finer) increments on the locking mechanism.Read full review

4.5 stars was deserved really as they are not responsible for the design of the calipers we are trying to get the pistons out of. I found that whilst the grip is very positive and freed the pistons quickly that because of the 4 pot opposing design of most front calipers they are not quite perfect. The problem is that you can only get the pistons so far out before the back of the tool hits the other side of the caliper. On the Nissins I was working on this meant pushing the pistons back in half way then using fingers to wiggle them out. Not a deal Breaker and the job was done easily enough even the really stiff piston that was causing me the bother. These get the thumbs up from me and good luck with your project.

Good product that works well and definitely makes removing sticky pistons much easier or even rotating them for cleaning accessibility. They aren't without fault however and needed modifying slightly to be able to not get stuck on the casting of my caliper. Well worth the money though

Used on the monoblock Nissins on a Triumph Daytona 2010. Maybe not the choice for professionals but it's great value for the money.
