I originally purchased this product to attach to a 6-string banjo guitar. The tone this pickup provides literally blew me away. It really captures some nice crisp highs and still brings out warm lows while keeping good resonance. I highly recommend it for any acoustic banjo. I have since installed one of these permanently on a mandolin and it again provides a good clean and bright sound. The product works well for a decent inexpensive acoustic guitar pickup (however, I’ve played more expensive pickups that provide more warmth and roundness of tone). You do have to play around with selecting the best location for placement on the instrument to capture the best sound. For the money this can’t be beat. It also works quite well on my son’s cello!

Since ordering against my beliefs, and once they came and I cautiously placed one on my Yamaha SJ-180, an average inexpensive guitar, the impossible happened! My SJ-180 became a Martin! The sound that came out of my line6 spider IV 150amp, was inspiring! For 5 dollars I l now had a great sounding instrument.

These pickups were exactly what I needed for a sound project I was doing. They arrived in good time and work as well or better than I hoped and were cheaper than I could make one myself. Highly recommended.
