I like the antenna, but I can't see where I have better gain or noise suppression that my Workman UV200 dual band vertical. It is a relative measurement, but I am not sure this antenna is doing anything better for me. It does seem to work fine and you can tell it is directional as compared to the vertical... but pointing in the direction of the target repeaters... it gets there the same it seems. I have mine mounted with a vertical polarization as I am not using AM/SSB modes. I am just using FM for voice and packet.

The antenna had high SWR right out of the box. The manufacturer replaced the tuning block ASAP. The antenna still has moderately high SWR - 1.6:1 is the best across the band on 2 meters. UHF is 1.5:1. On 2 meters, the bandwidth with usable SWR is very narrow - approximately 1.5Mhz. UHF is much better - like advertised. I use the antenna on one frequency for VHF packet and one UHF frequency for voice pointing to the same tower in the next county. It works OK, but on 2 meters, a tape measure yagi I have is a much better performer. The boom and elements seem well made - stainless steel construction. It is easy to put together and very light weight.

I received this antenna a couple of days ago. I was immediately impressed with the machining and unique assembly of the elements. The color coding made getting everything in the right place simple. There are a few areas of the instructions that could use improvements but the antenna itself is really well made. The feed point is really nice and the tuning shunts are simple to use. I moved the shortng bars 2 mm on VHF and 1 mm on UHF and I was dead center on each band at 1:1 (VHF) and 1.2:1 (UHF). the highest the SWR got was around 1.3:1 on VHF and 1.3:1 on UHF. The antenna is very light and it is easily turned with a TV rotator. I was able to hit many 440 repeaters for the first time using this antenna. Highly recommended.

Couldn't give 5 stars because 4 of the 5 elements weren't centered. No biggie. spent the time and centered them. Put up vertical and can't believe the difference !! Signals that were flickering 1 bar, now half to three quarter scale !!! Worth the money !!
