    436pt scanner

I've owned many Uniden products, 396xlt, desktop versions, 780xlt and know the capabilities of those radios. The new 436pt radio continues the great tradition of keeping up with today's radio systems. Large screen, multi-coloured alert led, loud audio, DMR, Moto Turbo, P25 digital modes (and others) and of course Close Call which is great for picking up any nearby transmissions and shows the frequency without searching. Like the earlier models, you don't have to put in individual site frequencies for the state, just all or most of the control frequencies as a scanner site and the scanner will work out what frequency / channel to use even if they add new voice frequencies - too easy - it's very smart. Uses AA batteries rechargeable and standard - means you can stick in Alkalines as ...

  • Top critical review

Usless to me, but looks of good quality.

Im an amature radio/scanner person, hoping to recollect on memories past of listening to police, ambulance & ses' transmissions with my father & grandfather, unfortunately , this was when i purchased it thought to revive that, not wanting to purchase a rubbish scanner, was happy to purchase for the price, unfortunately, this scanner cannot pick up police as i found out after i had brought it that the police transmit under a cryptic frequencey, and also this scanner you need to be a rocket sientist to operate fully (im not), asked to sent it back as it is just going to be a expensive paper wait, just would like to return it & get my money back, but looks like im screwed, as ive not heard back!!

  • Great value a little fiddle remember to put sink plug in if working in kitchen area thanks.

At first I thought it was not going to work ,so I turned it off. After watching some TV, I thought to try again & out of blue it started to pick up a signal .This is the second SD card of V2.05 as the last one went down the sink hole ,I forgot to put the plug in as the card is small & hard secure in radio.

  • Not cheap, but worth it

Received card quickly. 30 second job to clip it in (make a backup on your pc first!) Im hearing things i never heard before. simple. This is an expensive scanner, and its worth the price to "finish it". Turned it from an expensive brick to a fun toy.
