This 2.5-inch internal hard drive is suitable for all standard laptop chassis and even portable external enclosures. The 7200 rpm spindle speed, coupled with a 16 MB cache, gives this Seagate hard drive excellent access speeds. The Seagate Momentus uses a standard SATA interface that gives it external transfer speeds of up to 3 Gbps. The increased spindle speed of this internal hard drive draws a mere 0.05 percent more power than traditional 5400 rpm models. The Seagate Momentus also features G-force Protection technology that detects if the laptop is in free fall and moves the heads away from the discs.
