Worst Movie Ever... I FREAKIN' LOVED IT!
This is a fine gem of a DVD with a terrific performance from the lead actress. It's not for everyone! But, for me, it was a nice surprise. I should mention that I had the assumption this DVD was going to be a solid THUMBS DOWN! And, after the first few minutes, I was right- it sucked! But after awhile, it took on a life of its own and became laugh-out-loud hilarious! From the quirky one-liners of May's "hand obsession" to the grotesque climax of the film (way overdone to perfection, I might add), this movie freakin' rocks!! 100% CULT APPEAL! A must for any serious horror-comedy lover. AWESOME!! Perfect for late night Halloween sleep-overs.This is a fine gem of a DVD with a terrific performance from the lead actress. Sewing Your Soulmate
I liked this movie, it is dark and strange and very, very bloody. The acting is great and the script is funny, smart and disturbing. At times it may seem a little slow but it is those little scenes that accumulate and make May go over the edge. Lonely and disturbed May wants a boy to love and understand her. She thinks she finds him but she realizes he is not "perfect", he only has perfect hands. So she takes his hands and goes out looking for other parts for her perfect soulmate. I love Horror movies and the reviews I read about "May" convinced me it was a movie I would probably like. I wasn't disappointed, this movie makes you sympathize with the main character named "May". Without giving the whole story away, it's a movie about a sad little girl that grows up without ever having any friends or companionship. The only friend she's ever had is a doll that's enclosed in a glass case that she can never touch. Flash forward to her all "grown up"....talking or interacting with people is an awkward effort for her, and she comes off more than a little "strange". The story shows how never having a real friend affected her. I found it to be more "dark humor" than edge of your seat horror. Yes, there ... The product should be re-genred as a lousy love story and definitely not a horror movie. Not your fault though. A great horror movie hasn't been made since the excorcist.
