OBD2 scanner has already paid for itself

Recently got a check engine light and was able to manually determine error codes by putting foot on accelerator pedal and brake pedal simultaneously with key on accessories. 0400 and 0301. 0400 EGR valve and 0301 cylinder 1 misfire. The only problem was I couldn't delete the codes manually. I bought this scanner and it works on Australian Holdens (yay) before the scanner purchase I noticed oil leaking near the rocker cover. I replaced the rocker cover gasket and cleaned the EGR valve. I did a compression test which was good (170 psi on each cylinder) and then figured the 0301 misfire was from either a bad coil pack or blocked fuel injectors. Tested the coil pack with a multimeter and tests showed 0.6 ohms on the primary coils. Couldn't measure secondaries. I ordered the Foxwell scanner and ...

  • perfect instrument for home mechanics with OBD2 vehicles

The Foxwell NT301 is a instrument known world wide of being an excellent value for money device for OBD2 equipt vehicles , easy to use with a lot of features and this devise was the only one of that price range that could pull up the fault codes on my 2007 ford transit

  • Says it all.

I have had several instances of engine warning light (check engine) and have had to have a mechanic look for the problem using a scanner and usually just reset a reading to clear the fault. However, one time a faulty coil was the fault and so I had him do the repairs at a considerable cost I am capable of doing this work myself so this time when a problem emerged, I decided to buy my own scan tool. I connected the device and had it do a scan which revealed a faulty oil pressure sensor which I replaced and bingo, fault was gone. The instruction booklet is comprehensive and covers a lot of the capabilities of this scan tool so any person with a mid-range understanding of mechanics should have little problem using it to save a lot of money at the workshop.
