Ok, first of all, it's Ric Flair which would give it 5 Stars by default. However, the sheer LACK of matches in this "ultimate" collection is SO severe that this DVD would get a 2 Star rating. Seriously, there are only 8 MATCHES on the main selection. There are 2 bonus matches (Flair's debut and one against Triple H on RAW with a post show tribute). But 8 matches... seriously? WWE makes a 3 DISC SET and calls it "The ULTIMATE Ric Flair Collection" and only gives us 8 matches. Yeah there are some interviews before and after every match, talking about the match and the feud that led up to it. But, the fact remains... 8 MATCHES!!! The bonus material on the discs are good and the total run time for this set is over 10 hours, which is a LOT of Ric Flair. But still... 8 matches? All of the complaining aside ANY fan of Ric Flair should buy this DVD set because even with only 8 matches, those are 8 matches that will blow anything out today right off of the map. Period. Flair can still run circles around 90% of the guys he's in there with. Ric Flair vs. ... (shown in their entirety) 1. Harley Race Starrcade (11/24/83) 2. Dusty Rhodes Starrcade (11/28/85) 3. Barry Windham World Wide Wrestling (01/20/87) 4. Ricky Steamboat Clash of the Champions VI (04/02/89) 5. Ricky Steamboat WrestleWar (05/07/89) 6. Terry Funk I Quit Match Clash of the Champions IX (11/15/89) 7. Royal Rumble (01/19/92) 8. Sting Undisputed World Title Unification Clash of the Champions XXVII (06/23/94) Bottom Line: Ric Flair fans need to get this DVD set because it is the only Flair Collection (legally) available, and it won't be available for long. Fans of wrestling who are not quite educated should be required by law to buy this in order to legally call themselves a wrestling fan. The ONLY reason this doesn't get 5 Stars is because there are still only 8 matches! This DVD is complimented greatly by Ric's autobiography. And to finish your Ric Flair WWE DVD collection I recommend... This is one documentary over a wrestler that truly does personify the word "collection" if there ever was one. I've watched tons of documentaries over wrestlers through the years, but this specific one over Ric Flair stands out as one of the best ever created I think. What makes it so special above others, is they didn't just put a ton of matches together and put it out on the shelf for people to buy. What they did instead was pick out some of his most legendary battles and put the special segments on various wrestling shows that led up to it. They also put various interviews by Flair and his rivals at the time to hype up the match and their importance. And also if it was done at the time the interviews by both wrestlers conducted the night of the special events or various PPV's they wrestled at. Flair also gives his personal opinions on the various wrestlers featured on here and tells you why the feuds were so special, and how he felt his matches with them were. You get numerous battles of him with Dusty Rhodes here. You get the infamous "I Quit" match he had with Terry Funk in 1989 on here. You get some of his legendary ring wars with Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat on here. And some of his legendary matches with Barry Windham as well, which I personally think are highly underrated as some of Flair's best matches and one of his best feuds. It stands to reason judging by some of the segments and matches on here that Ric Flair had a hand in putting this together himself and telling WWE what should be on it. Any fan of Ric Flair's will enjoy the interview segments on here for sure though. He proves in each one of them why he was/is one of the top five best talkers on the mic in the history of the business. There are a lot of other nuggets of various footage on here too put on here that they perceived would be interesting to show about Ric Flair. Like they have the footage of when Flair and the Horseman beat up Sting and kicked him out of the Horseman because he refused to back out of the world title match he signed with Flair. You get to see Flair win the wrestler of the decade award by Pro Wrestling Illustrated in 1989 on here also. Flair explains on here also how he came to arriving to the WWF (WWE) back in 1992 and how he was able to come with the world title from there too. They cover the horrendous plane crash he was in that nearly ended his life and career back in 1975 when he was on the verge of hitting his prime in the business. Any fan of Ric Flair's will love this DVD for sure. It proves why he is the man and why he is the best world champion in history. A wrestling DVD/video collection is naked without this one for sure!Read full review
I became a tremendous fan of "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair after I started to become a professional wrestling fan, yet I was only exposed to WWF wrestling on TV. I had heard about Ric Flair primarily through reading about his illustrious wrestling career in various pro wrestling books and wrestling magazines. I had also watched some of his matches on wrestling videotapes before they had started showing NWA wrestling on a local Television station here in Sacramento, California, as well as watching WCW wrestling on TBS on Cable television. As cocky and as arrogant as Ric Flair was, he was definitely "The Man", and he backed it up every time he was in the ring! The more times that I saw him wrestle on TV, the more admiration and respect that I had for him! I also have another (3)-disc DVD set devoted solely to Flair entitled: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair: The Definitive Collection". That DVD had also included the highlights of his 2008 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Speech, his WrestleMania #24 career ending match against Shawn Michaels, and his 2008 Farewell address the following night on "Monday Night Raw". Ric Flair is a two-time, sixteen time World champion and WWE Hall of Famer. He's left an indelible impression on the wrestling world, and has achieved great success wherever he's traveled! There will never be another one like him!Read full review

I bought the Ultimate Ric Flair Collection from 2003. This is a great set for any Flair fan or anyone who loves the old days of wrestling where matches would go an hour on a slow day. Some highlights are a look at the legendary rivalry between Flair & Ricky Steamboat, as well as some great matches with the 4 Horsemen. The Extra's alone are worth the price.. Also check out the easter eggs if you get a chance. Those show some great gems, from the "lost" promo to the entire Flair Vs. Triple H match from Raw in 03, including the stuff that went on after the cameras stopped rolling. If you don't have this already, trust me, you need it!
Ric Flair! His name draws universal awe and admiration. He is the 16-time Heavyweight Wrestling Champion of the world. He has held the World Championship more times than any other competitor in the history of sprots-entertainment. Fans around the world pay tribute by shouting his trademark "Woooooo!" He has influenced more Superstars than anyone else. There are legends and all-time greats, but there is only one Ric Flair. This is the chronicle of Ric Flair's illustrious career. First released in 2003, "The Ultimate Ric Flair Collection" is a 3-disc DVD set that showcases why this extraordinary man had such a long and successful career as wrestling's top attraction for over 35 years. Featured highlights include his feuds with Harley Race for the NWA Championship at Starrcade '83; Dusty Rhodes at Starrcade '85; Barry Windham for the NWA title in January 1987; Ricky Steamboat at WrestleWar '89; Terry Funk in an "I Ouit" match in November 1989; Sting at Clash Of The Champions XXVII; his remarkable victory at the 1992 Royal Rumble where he won the WWE title; and a special night in Greenville, South Carolina vs. Triple H on RAW, followed by a unique tribute where he was shown appreciation by his fellow WWE colleagues in a touching show of respect. There is also a segment of how he survived the aftermath of a plane crash in 1975, where his back was injured but how returned to wrestling after a 6-month hiatus. While there are so many other great matches that should have been included, this DVD set has many fine moments, all of which proves "to be the man, you gotta beat the man". Woooooo!Read full review
