    I have no idea what the fabric is. It is very stretchy, like nylon. There is not much cotton here, if at all. But it is not shiny, it is flat colored, and looks really good. I bought the tan color. It has hooks built it, even though I use a pin, the hooks come in handy. Bottom line is it looks really good on my American Hat Makers panama hat, adds texture and depth whereas the standard black band is a bit boring. Best hat band I could find anywhere.
