Genuine and fresh ASUS battery with true original capacity
The back of my Nexus 7 2013 tablet was starting to bulge, so I had to get rid of its old swelling battery even though it was still working well (about 88% of its original capacity). Before installing the new battery into my tablet I tested it out with a calibrated battery tester. The measured capacity was exactly 3950mAh (to within 1%) which is excellent - so many batteries claim ridiculous capacities and deliver nowhere close. To me this confirms that it really is likely to a genuine ASUS battery, and that it is not excessively old stock. Installation was simple enough once I got the back off the tablet and prised the old battery from its tray (search for teardown videos with detailed instructions).
