Rich Deep Accurate and All You Need to know to play scratch golf is in here.

Take it from a golfer that has been collecting instructional books and studying the golf swing for over 25 years...this book is THE ONE !!! This “ thin” simple looking book has priceless illustrations, phenomenal content , and enough meat to keep you busy learning and perfecting your swing for many many years. Ben Hogan was one of , if not the best ball striker of all time and he shared a lot of his knowledge in this book . He also makes you dig and find hidden truths for yourself that are in between the lines. You have to read it and study it over and over again because it is so “ deep” and full of nuggets. Worth the price for the illustrations alone.

  • An amazing analysis of the golf swing

I will say, I've been playing golf since I was 6 years old and am currently over 50. I took a hiatis from the game for quite a few years to raise my family and left sporting a 3 handicap. When I came back I found a need to review the fundamentals again, my age and lack of playing crept up on me. I had always been a Hogan fan, infact played Hogan irons in competition but had never read this book. This book has given me insight into many movements in the golf swing that either I took for granted or had gravitated away from. I would recommend this book to a golfer who has the desire to learn or understand the game one step at a time and not too quickly. Read a chapter and practice the components in the swing in that chapter, then continue to the next chapter. This book is highly recommended.

  • A Golf Instruction Classic

I bought this book about a month ago and began to read it as soon as I could. The lessons in this book are easy to digest (there are only 5 fundamentals). I bought the book based off a recommendation from my golf instructor, as he said this is the only book that has produced a couple PGA tour winners. There is a bit of excessive discussion in between lessons, the one thing that I didn’t like (but it is easy to skip over due to the bolded key thoughts, another plus). If you’re looking for an easy fix to a golf swing, find another sport to play. As with most things in life it takes time and practice to get better and this is just as true with golf. If you apply and practice the fundamentals taught in this book you will see improvement. I would highly recommend this book to someone who is ...

  • Ben Hogan's 5 Fundementals of Golb

I wished I had read this book 12 years ago when I started to play golf. A must read!!! Transition from your old swing to this new swing takes about 10 days of practice. The only aspect I modified was the right hand grip. Ben will tell you to place the right hand V towards the chin. I found that this made me hit high fades with the woods. I changed to the right hand V to run up my right arm. This change made of a more boring shot. And it made for easier working the ball right or left. I have noticed that all Tour Players have the left and right hand V's running along the right arm. But with the higher lofted the V placement made little difference. But everything else the Ben teaches is right on!!!

  • A great read for all golfers.

Excellent publication full of interesting illustrations and comments. I'm not sure if this is a fix all for golfers or we would all be shooting par, but it's a great guide of where to look for faults and suggested fixes. Written in a very simple style, easy reading in one morning and makes a lot of sense. The lessons appear to be the basics from where other guides start. One interesting comment on his foot placements, looking at some of his video recordings it seems that there is a little bit of do as I say, not as I do, but this could be down to later refinements by the great man.
