Perfect for adding storage to a laptop.
Its certainly fast when compared to older USB flash drives but don't expect big surprises. If you're looking to boost the storage of a laptop, such as the Microsoft Surface Book, these work very well and they're a fraction of the cost of built-in. They're thumb-nail size, so they almost hidden when installed. But if you're taking them out to move between machines or as backup media, a bright-coloured lanyard is a must - they're very easy to loose in that situation. Excellent high quality usb drive, no problems and lots of storage space.
This official SanDisk 512GB drive is good value with an excellent storage capacity. It was well packaged and arrived quickly to the UK by recorded post. This is actually the second one I've purchased now. The drive works perfectly and it's a very good transfer speed. Total actual free space is about 460.27GB this is also partially due to some software that you could probably just delete if not required increasing space quite a lot more. The file system is FAT32 and so to store movie files larger than 4.0GB I used AOMEI Partition Assistant to convert this usb drive to NTFS and it worked great.This official SanDisk 512GB drive is good value with an excellent storage capacity.
