I have been using one for nearly 4 years for my boat but all the tread is worn off the tyre & I can't get traction. The new one looks great but the change in mounting is a challenge when replacing an existing unit. Will get around it though.

The new mount (gen 3 versus 2) is much stronger. It will handle the torque transfer much better than the old clamping system. Downside is that the Gen 2 will fit any existing jockey wheel clamp already mounted to the trailer. Plus side, having two jockey wheels will be an advantage - the manual one used to lift the draw bar to allow the Gen 3 to rotate sharply with less tyre scrubbing.
