    Tremendously Versatile, Capable, and Transparent

The RME ADI-2 is a tremendously versatile and capable DAC and digital preamp. So much technology and flexibility packed into a single device that caters to individual user needs and preferences. It's exceptionally transparent in sound - staying true to the original recording and not editorializing. There's nothing else I'm aware of anywhere near it's price that does as much and does it well as the RME. I can confidently say this being that I own another highly regarded DAC that retails for almost four times the amount as the ADI-2. My only wish is that the ADI-2 had at least one more digital input. If you're truly after transparency and high fidelity from your DAC, it's one of the very best on the market at any price right now. I will never spend what I spent on my other DAC again with a ...

  • Fantastic DAC that is in a class by itself,

I was lucky enough to get one of these with the AKM chip inside (4493), from a fantastic eBay seller at a really great price. Straight out of the box the sound is so NON DIGITAL it’s not even funny. And you can literally tweak so many things from parametric eq freqs to well, you name it, output level, balance level, digital filters, it’s really endless and has no peer when it comes to DACS at the $1200 range, nothing touches it. Firmware updates are a snap wit a Mac. And the meters, oh the meters give you a visual on both frequencies and output level, which allows me to tell in an instant which cd’s are brick walled………. And built like a Pro piece of gear, laboratory grade construction, even the knobs/buttons feel Top Tier. Rocker909

  • Amazing Dac/Preamp/Headphone Amp

Paired with a Bluesound Node 3rd Gen running coax out to RME and usb from computer for a killer head-fi stack. Very accurate and detailed with fast dynamics. Ran analog rca cables to an input on my Denon AVR-4400H and was shocked how much better it sounds compared to the internal Denon DAC and way better using the Node vs Heos built in streaming. RME also allows me to eq each pair of headphones with a preset for each that can be named "Hifiman Sundara" or "Monolith 1060", plus eq presets for my Denon/Elac/SVS system. Better than my Schiit Modi 3 Uber and SMSL SU9 without a doubt. Great build quality and fantastic sounding. End game for me !

  • Transparent, clean, with an unparalleled feature set

The RME ADI-2 FS deserves all the accolades that receives. The sound is clean, the capabilities of the dock are unique, and for headphone use it works very well with IEMs or harder to drive headphones (I listen with a Sennheiser HD8xx). The manuals a bit thick, but RME has videos on YouTube that do a good job of touring all the futures and giving you a visual overview of how to set up the unit. I own several other DACs with much more minimalist user interface which is my preference, but you have to love that RME went all in with their display and information that is presented while listening to music.

  • All In One Pro

Saved hundreds on one of the highest regarded DACs. Provides versatility and pro-like features. It definitely requires a higher level of attention and increase in ones audio tech knowledge. I went from a casual audiophile to a more accomplished one by just opening the manual.
