Notes
The 10 new songs on this album are inspired by Blessed John Paul II. In his "Theology of the Body" he spoke about the moment when Adam and Eve first met. He said, "They see and know each other with all the peace of the interior gaze." This musical collection speaks of the joy and struggle in seeing myself and others with the peace of the interior gaze. Many times I fall short of this goal. But when I succeed, I get a glimpse of heaven! I consider the musical genre to be "pop/soul." You will also hear elements of gospel, jazz, folk, country, rock, and hip-hop. Strictly speaking, the lyrics do not carry a religious tone. Rather, they speak openly of real-life experiences, either imbued with or striving for the peace of the interior gaze. In the end, I'm sharing my heart through this music. I hope these songs can be an insight into the peace of the interior gaze, the rose-colored glasses that tint my world. -Amanda Vernon.
