About this product

Product Information

The Nikon N75 Film Camera is an incredibly lightweight yet durable machine that represents the pinnacle of Nikon’s film line. This featherweight camera is well suited to a nostalgic outdoor trip where you don’t want to carry a lot but want the warmth and depth of real film. Incredible exposures are a function and reflection of vision. Through the viewfinder of a film camera, imagination comes to life. The N75 is unique in its lines, featuring a plastic build with a metal lens mount. It’s surprisingly strong and remarkably light. The body weighs in at 1.3 pounds with the built-in flash, and not much more with a 35mm lens on the front. If you are looking for a high-performance SLR that is compatible with nearly every lens Nikon has ever produced, the N75 is one of the highest performing cameras around. This is an excellent journeyman tool. Take it on the road or the trail with a little 35mm. Bang it up in the back country and discover the shots you come home with. The N75 works as well or better than all the SLR’s that have come before or after. All the modes are in play, aperture priority, shutter speed priority, automatic mode and fully manual, as well as a few presets. The autofocus works with all lenses, including specifically: AF, AF-I, AF-S, and VR lenses. This Nikon is also compatible with Nikkor optics if you use them in manual focus mode. The N75 auto focus works notably quickly with the AF-S lens and is quite functional with the other types. Of course, you can use manual focus as well, with an alignment dot in the viewfinder when using manual. It has great light metering and lets you know if you’ve misjudged the exposure with a blinking light in the viewfinder. The battery level is also indicated on the LCD display. It’s got a whole slate of customizable options, including a 25-segment matrix sensor, spot metering, a self-timer, and more. It takes two little CR2 batteries. The camera features sleek lines and a clean design. The LCD display on top is illuminated with the touch of a button. Impressively, this SLR has depth of field preview as well, which is a phenomenally useful feature in a film camera. It also features auto Vibration Reduction (VR), which is another excellent feature for creating your best outdoor or adventure photo. This Camera is loads of fun to play with, and any aficionado of film reading this description knows by now that they’ve stumbled upon a true gem of a camera. This autofocus Nikon features a well-designed built-in flash featuring multi-segment metering and a guide number of 12/29, which takes you out far enough. It works well with film speeds with ISO’s from 25 to 5000, so get your shutter speed skills ready for some exposure play. Since this listing is for camera body only, get a 35mm lens, or maybe a 28-80mm for a little zoom and wide angle action. Pack your kit and get out there. If you like film cameras, this is a seriously fun ride.

  • Top favourable review

Great for a 10 year old film camera.

The camera is in great shape and takes excellent photos. Even though it is the lens that takes the photo, the shutter curtain works like it is new and the camera its self is very light.

  • Top critical review

    Important info ommitted

Camera works well on all important points like shutter, flash, and film winding. But the function dial had a crack which caught on an edge during operation. I had to apply super glue to it in order be able to use the camera.

  • Extensive feature set and great ergonomics. Ideal for budding photographers

Although it fits a little smaller in your hand than most SLRs the N75's ergonomics sit very comfortably in the hands of enthusiasts and a amateurs alike. When staring down the viewfinder most controls can be easily accessed without losing sight picture. The HUD within the viewfinder is easy to read without being intrusive, and is not easily washed out by sunlight. Aesthetically I prefer the Japanese version in solid black rather than the two tone western versions. For those looking to stay simple without an external flash; the internal flash sits higher on it's mount than usual and provides decent flash for indoor/close outdoor shots. I have a Nikon f50 and a canon 500 that I keep as backups, but in terms of tool-set and accessibility I'll prefer the f75. Even if you prefer to ...

  • Forgotten Wonder

For the last of Nikon film cameras it certainly hits a home run! I also have a D40 digital and many similarities abound. I have the 50mm f1.8 AF lens on it and it performs fantastically! Of course, I am using P mode, so I don't have to do much. I highly recommend it to film camera buffs!

  • Film rules

Very satisfied with the Nikon N75 camera. I just developed my first roll of film and I am very satisfied. Used my 50mm 1.4 lens from my digital camera, I may never go back to digital.
