Power receptacle jack on rear is loose and sometimes router loses power, but if I organize the power cable and ethernet cables then the power is good and constant. Otherwise everything is good. Wifi connection is quite good enough for 2 to 3 megabytes download speed. I managed to load DD-WRT v3.0-r36104 firmware into the router. OpenWrt firmware may also be possible. Recommend to buy.

Unfortunately, very slow WiFi speeds. LAN is fine, but it you want fast WiFi with good range, definitely pass on this older model router.

This unit is small enough to fit on shelf and not be in the way like some units with external antennas. I thought the range would be limited because the antenna is internal but that is not the case. I works just fine all over my house which is why I purchased it. I use all four ports on a 18mbs router and have no problem with speed even with two laptops, desktop, and Roku TV running off from, it. Linksys quality and pricing left room to buy more things for my network. Very pleased with this purchase.

Excellent b/g/n 2.4 router. The purpose of this review is to alert buyers of used Linksys e-series routers that it is likely that they will have to reset the router before they will be able to use it. If the original owner used the setup cd or manually changed the login from the Linksys default then the new owner will not be able to get to the utility--and the setup cd will not work either. A reset solves the problem. Be aware that the reset button in ON THE BOTTOM of the router. I attempted to reset with the wrong button about 10 times before I realized my error. If I'm that dense perhaps someone else may be equally dense. Oh well, I got it fixed. I wanted this to use as an extender for my wireless signals. It works fine when properly setup per instructions that can be found with a search for "use second router to extend wireless network." Enjoy!Read full review
I manage several vacation condos in Mexico and always install new routers to provide my valued guest a better experience. I find this N300 to be the best for price, ease of use, convenience and reliability. I would highly recommend to others.

Easy to configure, didn't need the software from Linksys to install it. Pretty much plug and play. Port fowarding or setting up a DMZ for web server is a breeze. No problem with connecting wireless devices and has a good range.

wonderful. The affordable Linksys E1200 Wireless-N Router is compact, good-looking, and easy to use.It solved a big problem with an old router that basically was going out. It was very simple to connect and I was very happy that I could stay connected without interuption. However after a couple of hours of use I realized even though my old one was disconnecting it was much much faster. I was very disappointed. This morning I contacted online chat. They were helpful in that they knew what to do but not helpful in solving it. They indicated you had to be "wired" to the router to fix it. I was sure this was not true but at least I got the steps to know where to go to fix it. If you are experiencing a slow down Here is what you do.
My older Linksys E900 of 6 years, still working but with the all technical updates and newer equipment I had to go bigger & better. In which I found this one. Stronger in range, no drop connections is a big plus. Very easy hook up on your disc computer downloads.

Why I bought it -- I bought this router because I needed a reliable platform to run dd-wrt on so I could use this router as a cheap VPN appliance. -- What I like most about it -- The firmware that came with the router was pretty stable, and would be sufficient under most cases. I was pleasantly surprised at its small footprint, which makes it ideal for a small office environment. -- What I dislike about it -- All of the status lights are located on the rear of the router which makes it a little harder to diagnose hardware problems. The network performance using the stock firmware was somewhat less than a cheaper Rosewill router I had in use. Flashing to dd-wrt improved this condition , so no worries. -- Would I buy this product again -- If I could buy this product again at the same price, you bet !!!Read full review
I am very happy with this product. It was exactly what I was looking for. I looked to order this product from Walmart and it was a mess. They couldn't get it shipped to me in time, long story short..I came to eBay and found the exact product for about $15 dollars cheaper. We use Hughes Net for our internet, and this product works perfect! We have strong signal and haven't had any issues. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a cheap, but good quality router.
