"This will be the 'go-to' book for Latino military history for years to come. Rosales captures the voices and experiences of Latino veterans from World War II to Vietnam."--Steve Estes, author of Charleston in Black and White: Race and Power in the South After the Civil Rights Movement "Provides the most comprehensive account of Mexican Americans' experiences in the U.S. military. Rosales nicely presents everyday soldiers' stories while not losing sight of the G.I. Bill's and the Veterans' Administration's roles in helping shape those lives. Soldados Razos at War highlights the struggles and triumphs of a group of individuals whose service has not only benefited Latino America but also the United States as a whole."--Ernesto Chvez, author of The U.S. War with Mexico: A Brief History with Documents, "This will be the 'go-to' book for Latino military history for years to come. This book expands on previous scholarship by focusing on the intersections of military service, citizenship, and manhood, which created spaces for Mexican Americans to confront the inequalities among their own communities throughout the United States."-- Choice "This will be the 'go-to' book for Latino military history for years to come. The book is in amazing condition, above “acceptable” and shipped in a bubblewrap envelope. Though there are some soft color fading the top and bottom edge, it hardly seemed used and has that library book smell. Glad I took a chance because the description was general and there was no photo. Seller also didn’t provide additional description when asked. But they did promptly cancel my cancellation when asked and sent quickly. Thank you for the Tuesday surprise!

Seller listed this as hardback but sent a paperback version. I received it in a torn plastic mailer that exposed the book so I’m unsure about its initial quality vs any damage that may have occurred during delivery. I attempted contact x2 to replace it with the correct version with no reply. Waste of good money. Don’t trust this seller to ship what you actually buy or package it with care. Bait and switch.
