    Quick effective cheap

    Be aware though – you do need a 55 or 60 mm macro lens and a set of extension tubes – (those are also available on eBay for very minimal amount). Using your standard SLR model Nikon digital on aperture mode and regular day room lighting lets the camera set the exposure - ends up with great results with clean slides.

    Whole family is happy seeing old slides.

    Well made adapter works beautifully. Package arrived is very good condition. Attached to Nikon D3100 with 'Nikon DX AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G' lens. Used 20mm extender between camera body and lens plus 28mm spacer tube between lens and ES1. Light source is LED cool white bulb.

    Good in combination with other tools -- a bit of a "MacGyver" project

    I needed a set of extenders to bring slides into focus using a 60 mm macro lens, so it is not sufficient by itself for copying. Also I need a negative holder to run film strips through it. With a bit of DIY one can get it to work, but I'm surprised there isn't something more versatile in the market.
