The book is in amazing condition, above “acceptable” and shipped in a bubblewrap envelope. Though there are some soft color fading the top and bottom edge, it hardly seemed used and has that library book smell. Glad I took a chance because the description was general and there was no photo. Seller also didn’t provide additional description when asked. But they did promptly cancel my cancellation when asked and sent quickly. Thank you for the Tuesday surprise!

Seller listed this as hardback but sent a paperback version. I received it in a torn plastic mailer that exposed the book so I’m unsure about its initial quality vs any damage that may have occurred during delivery. I attempted contact x2 to replace it with the correct version with no reply. Waste of good money. Don’t trust this seller to ship what you actually buy or package it with care. Bait and switch.

  • In depth book about a groundbreaking car

Good book, with a lot of "not generally known" information about the trials and tribulations that went into the development and launch of the fifth generation Corvette. The views of skeptics, detractors, and the fans of the C5 Corvette are all discussed. Most books of this type are mere gushes over a car, designed to appeal to the fans of a particular model. Examples are the Leffingwell books (about the 2005 Mustang, and the "60 Years of Corvette") that do not cover any of the painful parts, and are almost advertisements for the car(s). It is amazing that the groundbreaking engineering that went into the car happened at all, given the "design by committee" approach used by GM during this period (mid-late '80s). The detail on the chassis, body and powerplant are also a lot more complete ...
