This might be my favorite Firm work-out!! Let me tell you why! To begin, I am a long-time 'Firmie' - devoted to the Firm work-outs for the last 15 years. I enjoyed the Fanny Lifter, Transfirmer, and the Wave. Then I became disappointed with some of the 'Pink' work-outs and the Firm Express and nearly fell away from them. At that point, I started reading some reviews and ordered this one. It was exactly what I wanted! My complaint with the Firm Express was that they tried to cram to much into a short period of time and sacrificed a good work-out in the process. And some of the earlier Pink videos barely got my heart-rate up and didn't incorporate new moves so I felt like they were all the same work-out. This work-out finally gets back to the basics - it spends enough time on the right moves while not letting your heart rate drop. I would consider this work-out to be an intense cardio work-out with light sculpting. It has a warm-up and cool-down. In between that, it rotates 3 plyometrics segments and 3 cardio segments. The plyometrics' segments do repetitions with weights but you constantly stop in between sets to do some intense cardio moves to keep your heart-rate up. The plyometrics segments use hand weights and that is the only equipment you need. I used 5 lb to 8 lb weights, though you could certainly use lighter weights to keep it at your level. I would not use weights greater than 5 to 8 lbs as you would not be able to safely execute the repetitions. There is alot of jumping in this video so I would not recommend this to someone who has knee problems. I would also not recommend this to beginners. Allison's Cardio Overdrive is a step-down from this one as a cardio/toning work-out and is less intense. I felt that this work-out was at the level of the 500-calorie work-out with Kelsey Daniels, so if you liked that one, you would like this one. I also really enjoyed Get Chiseled with Rebecca Sturkie, though that one has heavier sculpting. So, if you are looking for an intense work-out with good cardio and toning with mid-sized weights, this one is for you!Read full review
This to me, is a first from the FIRM. Great workout, though! This is what it says, BOOTCAMP! It's a good thing! You get a mix of your traditional FIRM moves (push ups, squats, lunges, side lunges, plyos & even kickboxing). However, the difference is the jump rope (w/o the rope), jumping jacks, basketball moves, doing the lunges in a hopping mode, than another part where by placing your hands on the floor (for advanced only), & putting one or both feet back & hopping back up! You get moving quickly after the warm up! It revs you up in no time! There are segments of plyos & cardio. It prepares you for the next section of the video. You use none & medium weights throughout most of the video. Heavy for only one segment for each leg. It even has an abs section at the end with lunging & dipping the weight from one side to another. Plus a regular ab workout (traditional crunches). It's a workout that will leave you refreshed!Read full review
I really love this workout. It's the perfect time length to really get a good workout. It really works all my muscle groups to the max, and gets me sweating and burning lots of calories! I am so glad it doesn't require any equipment other than 2 sets of hand weights. I am also glad it's NOT a step workout, as many of The Firm's workouts are - those really kill my knees. I do think Allison talks a bit too much in this workout - it seems as if she has to say something every second of the workout. Some of the talking is good, as a motivator, but some of the talk could be eliminated. She seems as if she's a little nervous and unsure of herself at times. That being said, I still love this workout, and I find myself reaching for it at least once a week.
This workout works every part of your body!! It whooped my butt the first two times I did it! It's actually easy to follow and has both the intense workout and another person you could follow if you need to take it down a notch. The moves are explained well and aren't hard to follow, but it takes going thru more than once for it to flow smoothly (and maybe to get thru the whole thing in one session!). It's great - alternating between cardio, weights, and plyometrics. Do it consistently and you'll definitely see results before too long! I've never had a workout that made the most of my time and effort like this. I love it!
I have been doing the Firm since the early nineties. I have tried a lot of them. The ones I was currently doing started to seem repetative - you can only do squats, lunges and push ups so many ways and I didn't want to use the Fanny Lifter 6x's a week. Tried the Bootcamp: Maximum Calorie Burn this morning and I was very impressed. It is tough; definitely one of the toughest Firm DVDs I have ever done and SO effective. You don't need a step, just one medium and heavy dumb bell. Also had a lot of ab and core moves I had never seen before. Lots of new moves and Allison is one of the better instructors. So happy I got this.
I have loved this DVD! It is a fun work out that is challenging. I haven't gotten sick of doing it yet. I spend my whole time in the anaerobic zone, so it isn't anything low impact by any means, but it is great for getting your heart pumping and improving your endurance and muscle tone. They do have a lady who does the workout low impact for those who are beginners. I also like that it doesn't need special equipment other than dumbbells. Love this work out DVD! Would recommend it to anyone!

This is one of the more challenging videos that I have and I use it frequently--it makes me feel like I've really gotten a good all over workout! I love the fact that I don't need a step or fanny lifter, just a couple sets of dumbbells. I will wear this video out!
The best exercise dvd ever. Alison Davis is fun and creative. She combines the cardio with toning, so you get both in time crunch effective workout. It is a hard dvd, but worthed it! Great dvd.
Great work out. Killer. Literally dripping with sweat. Loved it! I really like Allison as an instructor. She does a great job of going slow at first to get good form, and then kicking it into gear. loved it.
