About this product

Product Information

Born into an abusive family, Aggie Layman, at the tender age of sixteen, was abandoned to the war-torn streets of London, forced to make her own way in the world. In order to survive, she found a protector who opened her vision to the arts, antiques, and the upper crust. After the war he moved on and Aggie moved up. Her beauty graced the cover of Vogue and she took Europe by storm, feted as Europe's most beautiful woman. Courted by Barons and shipping tycoons, Aggie ran into countless predicaments. Three husbands and two children later, she didn't have a clue what life meant for her. Through a journey using psychiatry, spiritualism, counseling and AA, she unraveled who she really was. After working many intriguing careers and raising her sons, she settled in Bradenton, where she co-founded one of the brightest art villages on Florida's west coast. Generous, opinionated, and artistic-her paintings live on, as do the memories of her leadership. The Village of the Arts in Bradenton, Florida continues the dream of this amazing woman. Ruth Cade tells the tale of her real life hardships and how she survived and thrived. Truly entertaining and inspiring!
