The book is in amazing condition, above “acceptable” and shipped in a bubblewrap envelope. Though there are some soft color fading the top and bottom edge, it hardly seemed used and has that library book smell. Glad I took a chance because the description was general and there was no photo. Seller also didn’t provide additional description when asked. But they did promptly cancel my cancellation when asked and sent quickly. Thank you for the Tuesday surprise!

Seller listed this as hardback but sent a paperback version. I received it in a torn plastic mailer that exposed the book so I’m unsure about its initial quality vs any damage that may have occurred during delivery. I attempted contact x2 to replace it with the correct version with no reply. Waste of good money. Don’t trust this seller to ship what you actually buy or package it with care. Bait and switch.

  • Good for quick reference. Not into details!

The author just show you quick ways to tweak windows XP mostly by using freewares or sharewares available. If you just want to personalize your XP it's fine. But if you really want to understand the way XP works and really hack into the windows, it's not the one. Other sections about speeding up the system and system security is helpful. However, I paid about $ 5.00 for this book including shipping, and I think it is worth it. Good luck to you all.

  • Hacking WINDOWS XP by Steve Sinchak

The Book.. HACKING WINDOWS XP.. by Steve Sinchak.. is a Winner. I first saw the Book in a book store. Computers are my Hobby and keeping one running for my Grand'daughter is important to me. I liked what I saw and read, and who wrote it.The book covers a lot of time and experience in dealing with this operating system, XP. The best one I think that MSN has designed to date. Being 77 years of age I need all the Compressed Experience I can find. This writer is very good and well experienced with XP in tweaking speed, ect..The cost was a little out of my budget so I went to eBay and found it..Its a good Book and well worth the cost...Good luck.....JR

  • Windows XP

I purchased this book because I build computers and I needed a way to speed up computers without going overboard. The book was very helpful in this area as it gives detailed instructions on how to make changes to XP that allow each user to customize their PC and change it back should they need to. I give it a 5 point rating due to user friendliness.
