This sequel augments the style and gameplay of the 2000 PlayStation original with more characters, new arenas, and graphical enhancements. Gamers can now enter the ring as Rogue, Nightcrawler, Havok, or other new characters in addition to Wolverine, Storm, Mystique, Magneto, and the mutant heroes and villains featured in the first game. Each character has different powers and attacks based on the Marvel Comics X-Men universe. Four different game modes are available, including the straightforward "arcade" and "versus" modes as well as a "survival" challenge and an "academy training" session taught by Professor X himself.

A GOOD ALTERNATIVE FOR AN X-MEN FAN!
When comparing this game with other titles like Tekken 3, Street Fight EX Series, this game lacks the competiviness and strategy that the other games brought. Any gamer that can learn one or two moves can play the game through. The dificulty level doesn't bring that much of a challenge, leaving one to get bored after 30 min of gameplay. Being that this game is on the PSX, is a good choice for X-MEN Fans since the graphics and sound effects are pretty descent, the background could've made them more attractive and interactive (art wise). But newer PS2 versions surpase this one by a mile. So if you're still holding to your PSX, go ahead and get this.
