    Effective learning method, but it still takes work.

    This is a method I've heard of before, about how to learn a language. I was surprised that, if you stick to it, you actually learn stuff. I drive around 30 minutes to work, and the lessons are segmented in 30 mins. a piece, so I figure it would be perfect. It actually works, to have a time, a place and a structure, you actually learn a language. I've learned a lot, and maybe I won't be an expert at the end of the 10th lesson, but I figure to have a good understanding of this language and be able to have at least some kind of conversation. I was pleasantly surprised in how good its working, considering I never had a lesson of Russian before.

    Review of Pimsleur basic Russian

    Excellent for use during your commute in the car! I purchased this course to prepare for a trip to Ukraine and in just 1 month, I was able to learn enough basics to feel comfortable meeting and greeting in Russian. These CD's are perfect if you spend time in your car driving. Most lessons need to be repeated several times! Russian is difficult for a native English speaker!

    Russian, Pimsleur rocks!!

    This CD set is extremely easy to use. it concentrates on conversational Russian and allows you to jump into the action. I bought a CD set at the bookstore before Pimsleur and it was so intricate and detailed that it discouraged me. There was too much emphasis on learing sounds and words without sentence structure that it was confusing and cumbersome. Buy Pimsleur if you want to learn to speak Russian!!

    A very good and helpful product

    This product has increased my conversational proficiency in Russian to the point that Eastern Europeans think I have been speaking Russian most of my life. Very good product for learning the basic and advanced pronunciation of the Russian language.
