Do Not Buy Expired Systane.
I bought the expired Systane Night Time ointment. It barely worked if it worked at all. My eyes were agitated for two days. I have used Systane for several years due to eye surgery. I was unaware of the issue with expired ointment not working. Do not buy Systane Night Time expired if you have dry eyes. The ingredients deteriorate and will agitate your eye. There will be no relief. I had to go to Walgreens to buy a new tube within 48 hours. I bought the expired Systane Night Time ointment. It barely worked if it worked at all. My eyes were agitated for two days. I have used Systane for several years due to eye surgery. I was unaware of the issue with expired ointment not working. I can see clearly now , the pain is gone .
This Systane nighttime ointment is the only product I've found that successfully helps me sleep without the painful effects of dry eye. Only draw back is the squeeze tube needs a longer and thinner tube to thinly proportion ointment out the tube into the eye crevice . The shorter , more wider holed plastic tubes tend to bring the ointment out in unwanted clumps that waste and make mess of lubricate. This Systane nighttime ointment is the only product I've found that successfully helps me sleep without the painful effects of dry eye.
