Who is this Patty Griffin today? Is she the jazz singer..a blues singer...an alternative rocker or just an introspective folk singer? Well she is whatever she wants to be in this 5 star smorgasbord. And she has vocal chops and range impressive even among today's most respected female power balladeers. All presented with a sonic simplicity painted in the most basic textures but in too many colors to adequately categorize. She is simply a musical treasure! Who is this Patty Griffin today? Amazing work by a talented artist.
I've owned all of Patty's work since the release of her first CD. I loved the first one, and the ones to follow did not have the same impact. This new CD is phenomenal. I can't even believe how good it is. It is richly textured, adn diverse, and her voice is crystal clear and soothing. It's got fire and emotion. I am not a country fan. Patty Griffin denies labels.

Starts out slow...
Patty is a very good songwriter for sure but this CD starts out a bit slow and unfocused. After several listens only a couple songs make me want to play it again. I am so tired of women artists who complain men get so much more attention then they continue to put out slow ballad recordings. Do women havwe balls or not?!

Patty Griffin has a wonderful & pure sound!
My favorite song on the CD is Heavenly Day, but all the songs are amazing. I love her sound, a litle folk & acoustic. GREAT artist!
