The gloriously witty adaptation of the Broadway musical about Professor Henry Higgins, who takes a bet from Colonel Pickering that he can transform unrefined, dirty Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle into a lady, and fool everyone into thinking she really is one, too! He does, and thus young aristocrat Freddy Eynsford-Hill falls madly in love with her. Still a great show!
This blockbuster movie has class written all over it. Great production values - music, performances, photography, direction, etc, right through the spectrum of quality filmmaking. The re-mastering of the original film negative is marvellous. Only 'minor' down comment from me, would be the standard BluRay trait of dull whites - for some reason, BluRay discs have a duller finish than DVD discs. Not fully sure why this is but all BlueRay I have bought have a different grey scale than DVD. The whites are never as bright, more like an off-white. Maybe best to stay with a well-transferred DVD, at least for older product - not sure about new productions. This will only affect the trained eye for detail, and won't bother the majority of viewers.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
