The D-Link DWA-140 Wireless N USB adapter supports WPA and WPA2 encryption, allowing you to connect securely to a wireless network. It has a frequency range of 2.4GHz to 2.462GHz and is FCC Class B and CE certified. Once all necessary setup is complete and drivers are installed, use push-button setup to connect to a wireless network in a flash. This adapter measures 3.4 x 1.1 x 0.5 inches and weighs only 0.1 pounds, making it easy to take with you if necessary. It has an operating temperature range of 32 degrees Fahrenheit to 104 degrees Fahrenheit and an operating humidity range of 10 percent to 90 percent (non-condensing). It features two LED lights to indicate a link and to indicate current activity. Included with the D-Link adapter is a protective cover for the USB adapter, product documentation, and a software CD that includes an installation wizard with quick setup guide, as well as the necessary drivers. The D-Link DWA-140 is compatible with 32-bit Windows Vista, Windows XP SP2, and Windows 2000 SP4. The device also requires a CD-ROM drive, a USB port, and 20MB of hard disk space. Use the D-Link device with a cable, DSL modem, or a wireless router; all you need is a subscription with an Internet Service Provider. The adapter is backward compatible to 802.11g networks.     D-Link gets it done!!!

    Receives signal fairly well, very easy installation and backwards compatible if using for an older model D-Link wireless router. Comes with an extension plug-in cradle for the adapter. Meets or exceeds all claims for reception, also comes with instructions and phone number for technical support if needed. Seems to be a very sturdy well built USB wireless adapter.

    Good value especially for people running older OS

    Works well. This is our second one. We got it because our rental uses a shared wifi that is at a distance and we needed a booster first for my and then my husband's computers. I don't know how well it works w/ win 10, but xp thru 8.1 it works great, especially if you purchase a longer cable to allow for directional placement.

    Easy to install and a Quality product

    Installs easily and connects reliably

    I received hardware version B2, and had no trouble installing it on both Windows 10 and Linux Mint 18.2 (dual-booting on an older Dell business desktop). In both cases it connects to my home network reliably, with good signal strength. I'm only in the next room though, maybe 30' away from my DSL gateway/modem with one wall intervening. Was minimum effort, and I'm happy!

    Excellent Wireless Adapters

    These adapters have always worked great for me. I buy them to resell to my computer customers as I have a business selling PCs. I rate them AAA+++ for very good reception and transmission. I usually get 70Mbps down and 12Mbps up on my wireless network using these!!
