  • Great textbooks for little money.

    In a marketplace of extremely overpriced new and used books, why do math textbooks have to be so expensive? Because lazy professors refuse to recognize less expensive earlier editions of textbooks and require students to purchase the latest edition. Obviously, calculus hasn't changed so much over the last several years. Be aware the terms Early/Late Transcendentals refer to the order that certain trig functions are taught in the course. Usually, Early Transcendentals prevail. A large portion of the market is directed at the Larson/Edwards Calculus book. It's a good book, but if you want further examples or solutions you're directed to a website, so the appendices are non-existent. So, I was pleasantly surprised at the third edition of McCallum/Hughes-Hallet/Gleason et al. Calculus ...
