Synopsis
In Randy Wayne White's The Heat Islands , marine biologist and former secret operative Doc Ford is lazily poling his skiff along Southwest Florida's flat copper sea in search of sea anemones, when he runs into the body of the most hated man on Sanibel Island-Marvin Rios. And when the Island's simplest and sweetest resident is arrested for the murder Doc heads straight into the heart of the sunshine state's dark side-to save his friend from being framed, and to save Sanibel Island from a rising tide of land-grab schemes, blood money and violence.

    • Great series

Within the past three months I have read ten of Randy Wayne White's books in his Marion Doc Ford series prior to this one, all excellent reading, all written by a most gifted and talented writer. This book offered even more suspense, action and adventure which I found quite satisfying in and for the style of what I most love to read. A great book written by a great author. If you have a passion for reading and you love action and adventure then this is the book for you.

    • Mystery , Murder and Everyday Life in Florida

Great novel . I have read 3 Doc Ford books now and enjoyed each. I loved the take the journalist had about the Florida capital and politicians. The reason the capital was built with so much marble was because it would not absorb shit. Great. No only for Florida but all capitals should be so lucky. Tomlinson is a great side kick for Doc Ford. I enjoy both characters. Look forward to more Doc Ford. Highly recommended.
