  • Tony Mottola's Love Songs for a Romantic Evening

My father introduced me to this Mottola set in the late 60s. Dad knew I was a budding guitarist and he wisely thought that Mottola's artistry was something I should be aware of. Although some of the arrangements and productions are now dated, this truly displays some great pop instrumental interpretations. Mottola was a very accomplished musician and a smooth technician. His artistry still holds up well today, although the dated arrangements and productions can be a bit challenging to my ears. This was not uncommon for jazz musicians of that era. Wes, Howard Roberts and others all were making a living with selling their jazz sensibilities to a pop audience. I love Mottola's work. If you're a guitar nerd like me, you will also enjoy this collection.

  • Nice music

The first track on the CD skips. The rest of the tracks were fine.
