Back to easy sound's of yesterday .
Way back to Christmas 1964 we were treated to a , not seasonal but a very relaxing piano , come stringed orchestra ,
entitled "Cast your Fate to the Wind ", which made it to the music charts at No 5 loved by my parents , so I bought it as a present . We followed up with " Moonglow " which sadly only made No 43. Keeping the music going at home I bought the album of Sound's Orchestral on Marble Arch budget label for 21/- {£1-10p} , as the story goes it was lent out and never seen again .
This album has 24 tracks which takes in recordings up to 1970 , some I must be honest , I have not had the pleasure to hear before . The arrangements are a treat to lend an ear to , near on the verge of jazz with Johnny Pearson on piano , backed by double bass and drums and every some often a beautiful lush stringed orchestra creeps in , lovely ! It was only a few weeks ago at a record fare that I picked up a c/d of instrumentals and Cast your Fate to the Wind was on there , ah ! How nice , I wonder if there anything around on c/d these days of Sounds Orchestral albums ?
Thank you e-bay , a treat to buy , a great full stereo sound ,
Working as a presenter on local radio , it's now nice to have Sounds Orchestral to take us up to "news time " every so often .
