    Lightweight with great features

    Very pleased with this machine. It is lightweight, and manages to sew through several thicknesses. Excellent instructions included...dvd and manual. Also threading guides directly on the machine are very helpful. Have only used a few times, so can't speak for the many other features not tried yet.

    If you are experienced sewist, then stay away. Otherwise, it's fine.

    I guess I'm a little spoiled. I bought this machine to use for making cards. And yes, it does that, but working with it is a pain. First, the lighting is incredibly poor. The light shows up only to the right of the needle; not at all on the left, and certainly not on the needle bed. Second, the machine is a little noisy. Third, the listing said it was "full size" which is it not!!! I placed the machine in my sewing machine well on my desk and it's much shorter than a full size, by almost 10 inches. Next is the ability to see what you are doing. Very difficult, combined with the lighting and the foot that is solid metal. A foot with some clear plastic would work better for turning corners. After learning to sew when dinosaurs roamed the earth, having a learning curve when ...

    Easy to use sewing machine

    I learned to sew with a Singer machine. This Brother 17 stitch is easy to use and the instruction book is easy to follow, as well. I did not know that the bobbins from a singer machine WILL NOT work in a Brother sewing machine, so that's really the only inconvenience. I have some leftover sewing items from my previous machine that are not compatible with my new one.

    Perfect for a beginner sewer

    This was a gift for my 13 year old granddaughter. She loves the aqua color and found the instructions on how to thread a bobbin and the machine to be very good. YouTube has a few instructional videos which also helped, along with my guidance. She is currently practicing using the foot press and definitely is excited with the quality of the machine.

    Brother sewing machine

    I bought this a couple weeks ago because I’m making my daughter a costume and it was my first time making a dress but this sewing machine is so easy to use it worked great and the dress looks amazing I loved this sewing machine I didn’t have any problems with it it’s great I would definitely recommend it!
