Vinyl LP pressing. Cut is the 1979 debut album by English post-punk band The Slits. It was recorded at Ridge Farm Studios in Rusper and produced by reggae legend Dennis Bovell. The album reached #30 on the UK album charts at the time. Cut is included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain listed the song "Typical Girls" in his top 50 favorite recordings of all time.

      Great cover!!!

      All of my ratings are based on the cover. The album is worth having just for its table talk value with company. The music was pretty bad, but ironically that makes its talking point value even better.

      Surprised!

      I wasn’t sure how I would like this album since I had never heard of the band, but I am glad I took the chance! They’re kind of a post punk band without being too grandiose about it. I caught shades of The Kinks and Talking Heads throughout this tightly produced album. Definitely worth listening to!
