I have nothing but praise for this item - my massage therapist introduced me to the hyper ice roller and when I saw this I thought it was even better because it can get into my hip joint and other places the roller can't. I'm currently in physical therapy recovering from hip replacement surgery. I have dubbed my personal sessions with the hyperice sphere as my vibration therapy. With any activity my muscles tighten within a day and that causes not only muscle pain but joint as well. Great for glutes, hips and calves
I am a bigger guy that has played a lot of sports. My hips and lower back take a beating and I always feel better after a session with this thing. It's bigger than the softball I am used to rolling my glutes out on but it still works very well. It's heavy and well made. If you're casual mobility person, maybe stick with the foam roller.
