Very helpful book for identifying G.A.R. badges, because in the era of the Grand Army's national conventions, many fast-buck vendors made and sold "souvenirs" which are being sold today but which have no actual connection to the G.A.R. Also, this book provides some protection against today's vendors who attempt to sell incomplete and damaged badges as complete.
