This cartoon originally surfaced in the early 1970s, and was a bizarre caricature of American family life of the era. The show is based around the Boyles, who consist of a husband and wife and their three children. The Boyles' young nine-year-old, Jamie, displays frighteningly advanced knowledge of economics, while his brother, Chet, sleeps a lot, and his sister, Alice, campaigns for women's rights. 4 disc collection, nice dvd case and slip cover, 4th disc includes special features.
I have fond memories growing up watching this, the artwork was considered pretty basic but the characters and writing made up for it in spades. This was a ground breaking cartoon back in it's day and still holds up today. Definitely showcases what families go through dealing with the generation gap, great features on the 4th disc showcasing it's creators Bios and how the series came together. We waited a long time for a father to get home
I watched this as a kid couldn't wait to own it unfortunately it seems like the Discs were not manufactured correctly certain scenes will not play bought brought back such great memories seeing what I did if you would like simple art cartooning and times this is the set for you hopefully they will release the other seasons soon as well.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
