Undertank only!
This pad would have worked gre a t if I didnt stick it to side of tank ( just like one of the options showed). Place under the tank so You dont have to buy another like I did. I use 2 inches of aspen. The snake will find its sweet spot to rest and sleep safely. Your snake will not burn itself unless it doesnt have feelings. Arrived sooner than expected, and thank God it did! I was using an off-brand under tank heater on my 40 gallon tank for my boas, I went to swap it out with my new one and found that it was burning a hole through itself and left a black residue on the bottom of the tank which was super hot.
