Blu-ray features a new album mix in 5.1 LPCM Surround Sound and in DTS-HD MA 5.1 (24 bit/96 khz), new High Resolution Stereo mixes (24 bit/96 khz), the original album mix in High Resolution stereo (24 bit/192 khz), a complete alternate album running order drawn from demos and studio run-throughs, additional demo/studio run-throughs, full album instrumental mixes, a full album needle-drop of an original UK A1/B1 vinyl pressing, singles edits, live tracks and needle-drops of the banded tracks from the original US vinyl promo album. Yes - Relayer definitive edition
Relayer was not my favorite Yes release by a long shot when it was first released. It had a lot of competition from previous releases. But once again, Steve Wilson uses his magic to breathe new life in the original mix. Being familiar with some of the music through repetition in various live shows helped. The Wilson mix brought some of the amazing music hidden in the previous grooves. Clearer highs, isolation of the individual contributions to each piece of music just make it that much more enjoyable. And, of course, we can not forget the surround sound effect, making it much more like sitting in at one of Yes' concerts. Yes, it cost me a little bit more than when the cd was originally released nearly 8 years ago, but as I now have thew time to listen to it more thoroughly, I can say it was truly a good purchase.

Yes at the height of their considerable powers. Superb musicianship in service to incredibly complex compositions. They don't make 'em like this anymore!
