    On a par with TDK SF

    It's a very good chrome tape needing very little bias adjustment. Can handle full fequency recordings easily up to 0db and a little further without any distortion. My Tascam 488 mkll portastudio likes them. This is a machine which will only work with chrome or metal tapes and has NO on board calibration or bias adjust so I get to experience quite a range of comparison and can hear diffferences without any tweaking. Plus I alternate between Sony MDR1A and V-Moda LP2 Head phones for recording, monitoring and mastering (These are completely different sounding headphones so differences in tape quality, frequency response etc. do stand out.) They perform on a par with TDK SFs as regards reproducing higher frequencies (cymbals, chimes etc.) My ears like them and I'd buy them again.

    surprisingly good

    This one is unexpected - surprisingly good next version is definitely worse (the one in the sliding shell) requires lot of bias though, on the deck without adjustable bias will sound very bright. It has lot in common with legendary ux-pro.
